Advetech, Inc. was started in 1997 when Perfection In Carbide (PIC) was merged with Cowles Tool Company.  At that time, PIC had thirty-eight years of experience manufacturing primarily straight solid steel and carbide inlaid knives and wear parts, while Cowles Tool had eighty years of experience manufacturing solid steel and carbide rotary knives and other slitter tooling.  The combination of these companies created a company better positioned to serve the customers present and future needs.
